The CARSTENS company has been certified in accordance with the International Food Standard (IFS) since May 2003.

Through the introduction of a common standard, the IFS, German trading companies have formulated the quality management requirements for their food suppliers. This standard provides an instrument that on the one hand assures and documents a continuous process of improvement in the food producing industry and on the other hand permits a benchmarking system for the selection of suppliers.
In our modern production plant, quality management functions as the link connecting these requirements, serving to optimise the production processes with regard to legal, hygienic and economic aspects.

There is good reason why "LÜBECK MARZIPAN" is a protected designation of quality and geographical origin. These high quality requirements are even surpassed by our "Lübeck FINE marzipan" which has a proportion of 90% marzipan paste and only 10% sugar. Last but not least, we ensure that the thin coating of plain chocolate does not overwhelm the exquisite almond aroma of our premium products, since it is not "marzipan pralines" but the genuine, pure "LÜBECK MARZIPAN" which enjoys the highest level of acceptance.
